A true Grand Ledge legend has received one of the community’s highest honors. During Monday night’s Grand Ledge Public Schools Board of Education meeting, the district officially announced that the Grand Ledge High School baseball stadium will now be named Gorman Field at Pat O’Keefe Stadium — a fitting tribute to longtime coach, mentor, and Hall of Fame inductee Pat O’Keefe.
The announcement was met with applause and emotion, as community members, athletes, and former students celebrated the recognition of a man whose leadership shaped generations of Comet athletes.
🧢 A Coach Who Defined Excellence
Coach Pat O’Keefe’s name is synonymous with Grand Ledge baseball. A respected figure in the GLHS Athletic Hall of Fame, O’Keefe guided his teams with discipline, heart, and unwavering pride in the blue and gold. His career saw countless victories on the diamond, but even more importantly, he built a program rooted in character and sportsmanship.
O’Keefe’s influence extended far beyond the field — inspiring players to carry lessons of teamwork, humility, and perseverance into their adult lives. The new name ensures that his legacy will live on for future generations of Grand Ledge athletes.

As the Hall of Fame post perfectly put it: “Go Comets!” ☄️
