During the signing event, Tollison said that staying close to home helped influence his decision.

He noted how much interest Michigan State showed in him, and how competing in the Big Ten Conference – one of college wrestling’s top leagues – excites him.

His path to this moment includes being a runner-up at 215 lbs during his sophomore year, then moving up to 285 lbs to claim the state title as a junior.

He also brings a 45-match win streak into his senior campaign and is the first wrestler from Grand Ledge to earn All-American status at the Super 32 meet.

For the Grand Ledge community and the Comets wrestling program, Tollison’s signing is a milestone.

It highlights the growing strength of the local program and sets a vivid example for younger athletes in the area.
