Good morning Ledgers! Black Friday and Small Business Saturday has come and gone. And many of our local stores and shops report a successful start to the holiday shopping season.

The 2012 remake of Red Dawn, starring Chris Hemsworth, filmed multiple scenes right here in Grand Ledge’s Fitzgerald Park — especially along the iconic ledges! 🎬🌲
Locals reported seeing film crews throughout the park as the city briefly transformed into a Hollywood set.

Turns out, absolutely YES!

I hit Bridge Street to see how our local shops were doing, and the difference between Friday and Saturday was wild.

Some stores went from ghost-town quiet to packed-to-the-rafters in 24 hours.

The Collective and About The Home were practically bursting at the seams!

But not every shop had the same experience. I talked to owners across downtown to get the real story – who crushed it, who struggled, and what secrets the successful shops are using to pack their stores.

Overnight: Light snow with temperatures around 27°F.

Turns out, Ledge Craft Lane is a non-profit—and they're in trouble.

Their boiler died. Like, completely done.

Right now, they're limping along with space heaters, but winter isn't getting any warmer.

This is the same organization that brings us the Island Art Fair every year, pumping tourists and dollars into Grand Ledge.

They need a new heating system, and they need us.
