Grand Ledge has another big reason to cheer this week 🎉.
Jackson Shaltry, one of the top throwers in Grand Ledge High School history, has committed to continue his track and field career at Michigan State University after his senior year at GLHS.

Jackson has been a huge part of the Comets’ success.
Last spring, he helped Grand Ledge win both the league and regional championships with his strong performances in the shot put and discus.
He is also 2nd all-time in Grand Ledge history in the discus, with an amazing throw of 164 feet, 2 inches.
His coach, Rick Whitten, says Jackson’s success is no accident. “Jackson has worked extremely hard throughout his entire career at Grand Ledge,” Whitten said. “He throws outside year-round, no matter the weather, and that has helped him become one of the best throwers in the state. We are proud of him and can’t wait to see what he does this season and next year as a Spartan.”
