Good morning Ledgers! This week an 88 year old Brighton Michigan man working at Meijers was handed a check for $1.7 Million dollars because he was forced to work at the retail giant because he had lost his pension. “No, no,” Bambas said, wiping tears and sniffles in front of reporters. “Thank you. Oh, my God.”

A 22 yr old YouTube influencer decided to use considerable reach and platform to help this man out.

⭐ Fun Fact About Grand Ledge

Grand Ledge Was Once Home to a Thriving Opera Scene — With a Famous Ghost Story

Very few people know this, but the Grand Ledge Opera House, built in 1884, was once a major entertainment hub that hosted traveling vaudeville acts, concerts, political events, and even early film exhibitions.

But here’s the part almost nobody knows:

💀 The Opera House is rumored to be haunted by a former stagehand named “Oscar,” and multiple employees over the years have reported cold spots, footsteps on the balcony, and lights flicking on in the middle of the night — even when the building is totally empty.

Ghost tours and paranormal groups have investigated it many times, and some swear the Opera House is one of the most active historic buildings in Mid-Michigan.

LOCAL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

Brought to you by our friends at:

🍔 The Log Jam Has the Best Fries Ever (But My Drink Was Flat)

So I went to the Log Jam on parade night.

Big mistake? Maybe.

Smart choice? Also maybe!

The place was PACKED.

Like really really packed.

I had to sit at the dirty glass spot at the bar.

My Sprite had no bubbles.

And the servers were running around like crazy people.

But then my burger and my fries came.

And WOW.

Those fries changed my life.

Okay maybe not my whole life.

But they were THAT good!

Want to know if the Log Jam is worth visiting?

Want to hear about the nice couple who helped me order?

Want to know why I give it 4.4 stars even though my drink was flat?

Spoiler: The fries are better than McDonald's. WAY better!

Did Grand Ledge's Christmas Tree Get Dressed in the Dark?

Ho ho hold up, Grand Ledge!

Friday night's Light Parade brought thousands of bundled-up locals to Bridge Street for what should have been pure holiday magic.

And honestly?

Parts of it absolutely delivered.

Free hot chocolate, a burn barrel social club, and some parade floats that would make Clark Griswold shed a tear of joy.

But here's the thing nobody's talking about...

Why did they light the Christmas tree before the parade?

Where was Santa's big moment?

And more importantly – why did our town's holiday centerpiece look like it got decorated during a power outage?

Oh, and let's discuss the elephant in the room (or should I say, the closed shops on the street): while thousands of potential customers were literally standing outside with time to kill and wallets ready, most of Bridge Street's businesses decided to... call it a night early?

But it wasn't all coal in the stockings!

Some local heroes absolutely crushed the assignment, a few companies brought Vegas-level decorations, and the community spirit was warmer than that crowd around the burn barrel.

Want to know which businesses kept their lights on?

Which parade floats actually brought the wow factor?

And what really happened with that Charlie Brown-esque tree lighting situation?

[Read the full story here] – because some holiday tea is best served hot (like that free T-Mobile cocoa). ☕🎄

Spoiler: There's also a Log Jam Bar & Grille review involved, because priorities.
